We've added a wordlists-section
Published: 2010-07-22In our research to find good wordlists for dictionary attacks, we've only come across very outdated lists or lists that are auto-generated and not even based on any dictionary. To solve this, we've merged most of the common lists out there and we now have a pretty decent lists of almost 7 million words. We've also made sure all words are listed in both lowercase, uppercase and with the first letter uppercase (like how you spell a name).
Another thing we've done is to extract all the words which are at least 8 letters and at most 64 letters long, to make sure they're suitable WPA/WPA2 pre-shared passwords and can be useful to pen-test wireless networks. The idea is to do this with every list we add in the future and therefore offer good and flexible wordlists.
All lists are available for download on the wordlists-page.
A new portscanning feature has been added
Published: 2010-07-15We've written a feature which let you portscan your machine in order to see which ports that are listening for incoming connections. Currently, the scanner only has one mode, which tries to scan all TCP-ports between 1 and 65535 in a randomized order. However, we will try to add various types of scans where you will be able to specify speed and what ports to scan. This will be added at a later date.
Though, The scanner is somewhat smart and will adjust the timeout values as well as the maximum number of connections it does at once. This greatly improve the performance when it comes to speed, but might affect the accuracy. The scanner is currently in a beta-stage, so please help us by giving us feedback.
We crack your MD5 and SHA1 hashes
Published: 2010-07-03After almost a day, we've managed to insert and index a list of over 30 million MD5 and SHA1 hashes in our database. The idea and goal is to have a huge database of hashes in order to make it easier to recover hashed passwords. Also, if you enter a plaintext word instead of a hash, it will automatically add the word to the database. This makes it easy for our users to help out and improve this service.
Feel free to try this out and let us know what you think!
